As a national video and access control solutions provider, we’re proud to celebrate National Security Technician Day on Jan. 23!

Skilled technicians are the lifeblood of our industry. We’re grateful to our dealer partners and their teams of incredibly talented techs who work in the field daily doing the hard work of running cables, configuring networks, installing cameras and door locks, and so much more. We’re thrilled to join the Foundation for Advancing Security Talent (FAST), in partnership with the Electronic Security Association (ESA) and the Security Industry Association (SIA), as they honor techs for everything they do to help us fulfill our mission of making our communities safer, smarter, and more secure. Without them, it would not happen!

We’ve long been committed to delivering a better-prepared, more skilled technician workforce by hosting training classes since 2015. In fact, 2024 was the biggest year yet for our certified training program. We hosted sessions at our Austin headquarters and several locations throughout the U.S. (Atlanta, Boston, Jacksonville, and Louisville) to help our dealer partners fulfill their need for well-trained technicians.  

Eighty-five of our dealers sent 178 technicians who spent more than 328 hours in training last year. And it was no ordinary training – our curriculum is designed to make attendees field-installation-ready in just four full days with hands-on and interactive video surveillance education and training with written and hands-on testing to ensure competency.
